- Detach and wash diamond discs with soap and water
- Dry diamond discs immediately after washing

Upon opening the Hone sharpener, I was impressed by the heft and quality of the sharpener, and the smooth ball bearing movement. It comes in a well thought box that continues to serve as excellent storage for the sharpener, wrench and #400 and #1000 grit discs.
The #400 grit disc makes short work of bringing back an edge that’s gotten dull and the #1000 grit disc finishes the process to razor sharp. The discs can be reversed doubling their sharpening life. The magnetic knife holder comes with 15 and 20 degree bevels for large and small knives. The blades are held to the knife holder by recessed magnets giving a secure scratch free hold. I’ve used a lot of sharpeners over the years, but this one is my favorite.
A beautiful performer. Easy to use. Amazingly fast to set up, use and put away. Easy to clean discs. Sweet packaging - on the level of Apple… and it makes for sound and good-looking storage. I added the 200# disc to my basic order, and it really brought my set of recent, old and very old knives around. This saved me a lot of time compared to starting with the No. 1 disc.
One limitation: blades of less than 5/8 inch width over the 1st 2 inches from the hilt are too small to work - (though I figure some amount of shim might be devised to get that width down to 1/2 inch).
Maintenance sharpenings have gone very fast… compared to the original cut. I highly recommend this product.
Very easy to use and effective
This is a great tool. We had several kitchen knives that were really blunt. 30 minutes with the Hone knife sharpener made a huge difference. We were looking at a different US product but were very happy to support something more Canadian.
Very disappointed I should have bought the $30 dollar one does the same thing as your$140 dollar one
